Review – Mustek PD77C Dual DVD Player
The Mustek PD77C is a ‘no name’ brand, but it is a solid portable DVD Player for your vehicle. The Mustek PD77C has dual screens which can be used for either one movie for easier viewing or for two movies, depending on what you want. It can also be used to play video games; however, if you want to use the screens separately, you’ll need to pick up some additional cables. This is also a solid DVD player with a decent length battery life and fairly solid, though still easily scratched and some have broken down in a shorter time, especially if it has been used several times for long durations.
Very Good Picture and Sound Quality
The Mustek PD77C has a very good picture and sound quality, especially when compared to other dual DVD players of a similar price. Both screens are of good quality, which puts a little above other portable DVD players with dual screens since sometimes the second screen is of poorer quality. It also attaches well to headrests with little effort. This portable DVD Player can handle movies, music and video games, giving a good range of options for the users.
Less Disposable Than Other Models
The Mustek is a ‘no name’ brand which may give buyers pause for thought; if nothing else, there have been complaints about the level of customer service which people received when calling the company with problems. This DVD player also doesn’t have a very long cord connecting the two screens, though this is a problem typical of portable dual DVD players. The AC adaptor only powers the main screen too, so be sure not to overuse the secondary screen or it will burn out too quickly. Finally, the battery pack does not attach to the unit which makes it impossible to use in the car without plugging in.
The Mustek PD77C sells for about $138 USD on Amazon, which is a fairly middle of the road price for cheaper portable DVD players. However, it’s less disposable than many other models which makes it worth the little extra cost!
