Review – Philips PET7402 Dual DVD Player
The Philips PET7402-27 portable DVD player is great for taking on long trips and it’s cheap enough that you don’t feel badly when it breaks down or gets damaged by your children. Although far from the best portable DVD player on the market, it has all of the basics you need to keep your children entertained on long trips with DVDs or play music. The DVD Player has two 7 inch screens, a strap which fastens around any style of car seat (even headrests that are very wide) and has the basic controls right on the system which makes it easy to use if you have older children, though more difficult to use if there is no one to control it since the driver will have to stop and change it. The dual screens make this unit popular since those in the back seating watching it won’t have to crane their necks to see the picture.
Good Quality for the Cheap Price
The picture quality is not bad considering how cheap the screens are and though the sound is not the greatest; considering that it will largely be used to entertain children, it’s good enough. There are a few other issues to consider: it is cheap, meaning that it’s more disposable so don’t be too surprised when it breaks down; it doesn’t come with a carrying case, so expect it to get scratched; the cord between the two screens is short, so you won’t be able to hide it so easily; and it has to be plugged into a power outlet of some sort or it won’t work, so it doesn’t travel well in planes.
The Philips PET7402-37 can be bought on Amazon for about one 150$ to $180. This includes the car mount and straps to hold the screens in place. If you’re looking for a portable DVD player on a budget, then you should consider this model!
